Simon Cowell’s got something new to scowl about
I hope Simon Cowell really loves the limelight seeing as he’s hardly ever out of it! This time around, I’ve been hearing about how his American Idol rival, Ryan Seacrest, has been mouthing off about Simon’s use of Botox during a television interview.
Ryan was a guest on the Ellen Degeneres show where the newlywed Ellen asked him if audiences could expect to see Simon being his usual angry self soon – and Ryan responded that you couldn’t tell because he was so full of Botox! He sniped to Ellen that it was impossible to tell the difference between when Simon was angry and when he was happy thanks to the injections the pop mogul had been getting.
It’s well-known there’s no love lost between the two of them, and the comments were obviously just a friendly dig – both men have frequently got together to make efforts to help charities and it’s not a huge secret their supposed hatred for one another is pretty fake – but the remarks seemed a bit harsh to me.
Simon is more than happy to admit he uses Botox – and why wouldn’t he be? Let’s face it, in the industry he works in, it’s important to look good, and at 48, Simon certainly does that. As does the gorgeous Dannii Minogue, his fellow X Factor panellist, who also revealed she uses Botox to look the best she can.
It’s unlikely that someone could use so much Botox they won’t be able to express themselves – reputable plastic surgeons wouldn’t let you – and it can take a few days for the initial, strongest effects to wear off a little.
However, I bet Ryan will be keeping his mouth shut when he turns 48 – he might just find his opinion shifting a little…
