Loose Woman Denise Welch reveals cosmetic treatments
Star of TV’s Loose Women, Denise Welch, celebrated her fiftieth birthday early this year by undergoing cosmetic surgery.
The actress, who is married to actor Tim Healy and has two sons, revealed that she had various procedures done to give her a younger look. “I just wanted to be fresher,” she told the Sunday Sun. “My crow’s feet and baggy eyes always bothered me.”
Welch, who has always been up front about her cosmetic surgery procedures, revealed she had both upper and lower eyelid surgery and says she’s ecstatic with the results. She has also had dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle laser treatments in the past, bringing her cosmetic surgery bill to a rumoured £12,500.
However, the star doesn’t foresee having any more cosmetic procedures done in the near future. “There’s nothing else at the moment. My neck would be the next thing but I don’t want any major surgery.”
Welch’s move follows the findings of a recent study, which revealed that one in 30 women at, or close to, retirement age would consider cosmetic surgery to remove the signs of ageing.
Anti-ageing procedures have been on the rise over the last few years, with facelifts and eye bag removal (blepharoplasty) being the most popular with women aged between 50 and 55 in Britain.
An increasing number of older women are also turning to dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxing treatments to smooth out the appearance of wrinkled skin.
As well as her birthday, Welch also celebrated 20 years of marriage to her husband Tim. In a gesture to honour the occasion, Welch was serenaded on the set of Loose Women by her husband, who sang the Rod Stewart song, ‘Have I Told You Lately’.
