A New York art gallery is to display images, videos and sculptures of plastic surgery recipients as part of an exhibition on the art of cosmetic surgery.
The exhibition, entitled I Am Art – An Expression of the Visual & Artistic Process of Plastic Surgery, is being shown at apexart and aims to reveal how surgical procedures can relate to works of art.
Before and after photos of facelift patients, videos of rhinoplasties being performed and sculpted models of the human body will be shown during the exhibition to reveal the various intricacies of surgery, as well as the degree to which a plastic surgeon can change a person’s appearance. (more…)

When it comes to what’s often seen as one of life’s most important events, it’s no surprise that every woman wants to look her best on her wedding day.
Now, many of those brides are turning to cosmetic surgery in order to ensure they look their absolute best when walking down the aisle.
According to the Daily Mail, the number of British women turning towards cosmetic surgery procedures before getting married has continued to increase over the past few months. Some surgeons have noted that procedures have increased by 75 per cent since January, and 60 per cent of those women said they were having the surgery specifically for their wedding day. (more…)

The cosmetic surgery industry has continued to grow during the first half of 2009, according to new research.
According to a report in the Telegraph, demand for procedures including Botox, dermal fillers, facelifts and nose jobs have all increased in recent months, despite seeing a slight decline in sales during the beginning of 2009. (more…)

I think it’s a shame that when some people think of the words ‘boob job‘ they think of over the top implants favoured by glamour models. Recently, more and more women have come to us looking for natural looking breast implants or lifts. That’s because they want to feel happy with their breast size – and happy doesn’t necessarily mean massive. (more…)

New research is predicting that the cosmetic surgery industry is set to grow in America.
Numbers from the Freedonia Group show that the US cosmetic surgery industry could grow to total around $18.2m (£12.2m) by 2012, meaning an increase of about seven per cent year on year.
According to ICIS.com, the research group noted: “Demand will be driven by an increasing number of individuals who spend their disposable income on cosmetic surgery procedures to improve their appearance and enhance self-esteem.” (more…)

While women have been drawn to cosmetic surgery for many years, there has been a recent rise in the number of men seeking procedures.
According to a report in the Mirror, procedures like liposuction and male chest reductions have increased in the past year. In addition, rhinoplasty and eyelid surgeries are also in demand from men.
The numbers have been unveiled in a study from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), which notes that the demand for male cosmetic surgery has risen by close to 300 per cent. Of that, male chest reductions are up 44 per cent, and brow lifts have increased by 60 per cent. (more…)

According to a new report, as the current economic recession continues to deepen, many job seekers are turning to cosmetic surgery to boost their chances of finding a job.
A report from news agency Reuters notes that some surgeons in the United States are noticing an increase in those looking for a “fresher” face in the competitive job market.
California-based cosmetic surgeon Payman Simoni, said: “Before the economy turned down, people would come in because they wanted to have more fun and enjoyment out of life. (more…)

Australia’s Dancing With The Stars host Sonia Kruger has come out saying she’s embraced non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
The 43-year-old host has revealed that she’s dabbled in cosmetic surgery procedures including Botox, and that she sees no problem in improving on nature.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Kruger said: “They asked me if I wanted to give it a shot, maybe it was when I was on 11AM, and I said what the hell.” (more…)

Botox injections are being praised as a way to reduce visible stress signs that appear on our faces.
Journalist Alice BB documents her experiences after she chose to undergo Botox after realising a past relationship had left her with visible frown lines on her face.
