Burlesque performer Dita Von Teese has explained the reasons behind the cosmetic surgery that helped make her career.
The 37-year-old dancer, actress and Wonderbra model underwent a breast enlargement at age 21 to repair the damaging effects of excessive weight loss caused by drug taking. (more…)

I’ve always been interested in Dannii Minogue, partly because I’m really curious about how it feels to be a successful star who is the sister of a successful star! But Dannii has had a pretty varied career over the years – she’s been on the TV since she was seven years old, and she’s never kept quiet for long. From signing to acting and presenting, she’s always got something on the go, but it’s the X Factor that’s definitely upped her profile in the UK most recently. (more…)

I hadn’t heard about the whole hoo-ha over former American beauty queen Carrie Prejan at all until a few days ago, when I read in the news that she may have to pay pageant officials for her boob job. Apparently, she borrowed the money for the procedure back when she was a contestant and they are claiming that she never paid it back. (more…)

Patients interested in cosmetic surgery procedures are being strongly advised against seeking cheap fixes abroad, due to the risks involved in choosing unqualified and unethical surgeons.
Kent News reports that a cosmetic surgeon in the region, Brent Tanner, has observed a growing “wave of people going to foreign countries” for cheap plastic surgery. According to Mr Wells, as many as 10 per cent of patients report complications arising from these procedures, which require repairs from qualified surgeons back home. (more…)

New figures have indicated that men in the city are driving an increase in cosmetic surgery procedures.
While women remain the most likely to turn to cosmetic surgery, there is increasing evidence that men are investigating procedures more commonly. Research from The Harley Medical Group has found that September brought a 24 per cent month on month increase in enquires and that a number of them were from men. (more…)

Burlesque shows are becoming more and more popular in the UK these days as ladies and men enjoy an evening of entertainment that celebrates the body. Normally these shows have a strip tease element these days, but a lot of the time they mix in a lot of comedy and entertaining short storylines or skits to make sure they appeal to lots of people. I’ve been to a few burlesque shows myself over the last few years and enjoyed them, but the thing that’s really interesting me about burlesque these days is the way that some people are really taking parts of its philosophy on board.
