TV star Vanessa Williams is vocal in her support of Botox treatments allowing women to look their best well into their 40s.

The 46-year-old actress, who plays Wilhelmina Slater in the hit TV series Ugly Betty, has publicly stressed that pursuing regular wrinkle relaxing treatments is nothing to be ashamed of, stating: “I’m 46 years old, but I’m still in the game.”

Showbiz Spy reports that Vanessa has been recruited as a spokeswoman by the makers of Botox, and the actress told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that the treatments are painless and haven’t impaired her acting abilities. She also stressed the importance of checking in with a reputable surgeon.

Vanessa explained: “I need to look good. But I asked a lot of questions first about Botox.

“I told the dermatologist that I don’t want to be frozen. As an actress I need to have expression in my face. But it doesn’t hurt. It works. But I think you should ask a lot of questions. Make sure you talk to a licensed dermatologist or plastic surgeon.”

Vanessa also revealed that her role as diva Wilhelmina in Ugly Betty has not had a major impact on her public figure, stating: “Most of the time I don’t look like Wilhelmina, so I’ll slip through the cracks.

“But if they recognize me, kids are the ones who are a little nervous.

“I take my daughter to Disneyland and there’s a bunch of kids, they’ll look at me and move away because they assume I’ll be mean. I think people are afraid to approach me because they think I’m diva and that’s kind of funny. Then they see me with my kids and they’re fine.”
