Men increasingly choosing facial fillers for younger look
Facial fillers are enjoying a surge in popularity, with more men in particular turning to the treatment as an affordable means to hold back the years.
Cosmetic surgery for men is becoming increasingly popular as a way for ambitious men to compete in today’s tough job market. By choosing non surgical solutions such as fillers and Botox treatments, men are able to enjoy instant results with a faster recovery time than would be involved in a more invasive procedure such as a face lift.
Houston News reports that non invasive cosmetic surgery procedures have risen in popularity by five per cent over the past year, with much of this growth being due to the highly competitive job market, where a younger and more alert appearance can lead to greater success.
Cosmetic surgeon Dr Russell Kridel explained the growing popularity of facial fillers among men looking to hold back the signs of ageing. “Not just because the economy may be down but people may want something less invasive that they don’t have to spend more time recovering from,” he said.
Just like a face lift, facial fillers can target the whole face or key areas that the patient is unhappy with. Dr Kridel explained: “People tend to lose a lot of fullness in this temple area, here the more you see the shape of the underlying skull, the more it looks like you’re getting older so we want to keep that plumped out.”
It was also revealed earlier this year that skin peels had overtaken facelifts in popularity among British women in the current economic climate, indicating that both sexes are seeking out affordable treatments to look their best during the recession.
