New figures have revealed that ‘mummy makeovers’ are becoming increasingly popular with the under 30s.

Mummy makeovers is the name given to a range of cosmetic procedures often carried out by women hoping to re-claim their figures after giving birth. The nickname often refers to surgeries such as breast lifts and augmentations as well as tummy tucks to remove and tighten sagging skin. (more…)

More men choosing tummy tuck surgery

The number of men choosing tummy tucks to improve the appearance of their waistline has risen in the first two months of the year, according to a new study.

Research carried out by The Harley Medical Group found that the number of men aged 35 or over choosing cosmetic surgery on their stomach increased by 55 per cent compared to last year, with 40 men undergoing the procedure in January and February this year compared to 26 the year before. (more…)

Women in Wales are most likely to have cosmetic surgery

Women in Wales have been found to be the most likely in the UK to choose cosmetic surgery, with 10 per cent of women in the country having had some form of cosmetic treatment.

The largest survey ever carried out concerning plastic surgery questioned 5,000 people around the UK, to identify the trends of different regions. The Telegraph reports that the survey was carried out by OnePoll for the website Safer Cosmetic Surgery, set up by UK surgeons who subscribe to common safety standards. (more…)

Cosmetic surgery popular with all income bands

A new survey has found that cosmetic surgery is becoming increasingly accepted among people regardless of their income, with almost half of people in the United States approving of cosmetic surgery procedures.

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) found that 48 per cent of survey respondents approved of cosmetic plastic surgery, with almost a quarter stating that they would consider undergoing surgery themselves. (more…)

Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi may owe his election victory in part to his cosmetic surgery, as the image-conscious politician reportedly understands the importance of looking young in the public eye.

Mr Berlusconi looks much younger than his 73 years, and famously underwent eyelid surgery to remove sagging around his eyes and restore a younger and more alert appearance. (more…)
