Botox fan Simon Cowell looks good for HD TV
With the new series of Britain’s Got Talent debuting in High Definition for the first time, its image-conscious presenters are reportedly taking every step to ensure they look their best on the unforgiving HD screen – from Botox to cosmetic products.
Simon and co-presenter Amanda Holden have long been revealed as fans of the wrinkle relaxing injections, with Simon famously saying that he sees Botox as essential as brushing his teeth.
An insider told The Daily Star: “Simon and Amanda are both conscious about looking their best on TV,” and also explained that “HD is a nightmare for TV presenters.
“Because the quality is so much better, it really shows up any flaws in their skin and can make them look older.”
TV presenters have long relied on make-up to cover up skin flaws and hold back the years, but according the source, HD can be especially unflattering “if the wrong type of make-up is used.” Fortunately, 50-year-old Simon has his fiancée Mezghan Hussainy on his side, who has her own line of beauty products.
The couple are planning to marry in the autumn, and sources report that Simon would like to lose another seven pounds before the big day. “Simon is looking extremely trim,” the source reported.
“I’m sure the forthcoming wedding and the fact the show is going out in HD have spurred him on to get in tip-top shape.”
As for Amanda Holden, the 39-year-old admitted to using Botox, and earlier this year she told Fabulous magazine that she may consider more cosmetic surgery in the future.
“For now, I’m going to experiment with non-invasive treatments,” Amanda said.
