Katie Price says she’ll have breast surgery after next baby

92191276Katie Price, also known as Jordan, has revealed that she would like further breast surgery but will wait until she has had another baby.

The 33-year-old is famed for having very large, surgically-enhanced breasts, and for having breast enlargement, breast reduction, Botox and lip fillers in her twenties.

Research points to health benefits of liposuction surgery

overweight women stomachLiposuction operations, designed to remove excess fat from specific areas of the body, may actually help reduce the amount of harmful fat circulating in the blood, according to new research.

The US study, which was led by Kansas-based plastic surgeon Dr Eric Swanson, took 229 liposuction patients and measured their triglyceride levels – a mechanism used by the body to store excess calories.

Weight loss patients unaware of cosmetic surgery options

104297543A significant number of people who undergo weight loss surgery are unaware of the cosmetic follow-up procedures available to them.

According to research conducted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 75 percent of bariatric patients were unaware of body contouring, which can be used to help remove excess skin following rapid weight loss.

Leading dermatologist urges consumers to choose skincare backed by science

A leading dermatologist has spoken out in support of skincare that uses ingredients scientifically proven to be effective.
Dr Joe Fowler, former president of the American Contact Dermatitis Society, told women’s healthcare magazine Viva that people should avoid marketing hype and stick to facts.
In an interview with Viva following the Dermatological Society’s annual conference in Wellington, New Zealand, Dr Fowler said: “Almost nothing works at a level below the skin that you can rub in.
“[But] those products that contain those things [collagen etc.] may well contain other good moisturising ingredients.”
Talking about natural skincare products, Dr Fowler added: “It’s good we’ve got some proven natural ingredients, but the flip side of that is there are a lot of natural ingredients that are promoted as having various benefits and there’s no data or science to support that.

Cosmetic myth affecting breastfeeding success rate

stk204189rkeThe false belief that breastfeeding will adversely affect the breasts of a woman who has undergone an augmentation procedure is preventing some mothers from feeding their babies successfully.

New research claims 86 per cent of mothers with breast implants, who were unsuccessful at breastfeeding, all believed the process would negatively affect the look of their chest. The study suggests it was this false belief that prevented them from feeding properly.

US plastic surgeon opens ‘fat bank’ for fat transfer patients

83773679A plastic surgeon in America has opened a fat bank so that patients who have had liposuction surgery can store their fat and use it at a later date.

The move comes as fat transfer procedures – which see fat being taken from one area of the body and put into another to reshape particular body parts – rise in popularity.

Male cosmetic surgery on the rise in Azerbaijan

stk212523rkeAn increasing number of men in Azerbaijan are turning to cosmetic surgery to improve their looks.

According to one plastic surgeon based in former Soviet Bloc country, just 20 per cent of people considering plastic surgery were men in 2005/06. Today that figure stands at 40 per cent.

Speaking to the Azerbaijan Press Agency, plastic surgeon Sevinj Tabrizli said there are now around 20 clinics in the country’s capital, which carry out an estimated 3,000 plastic surgery operations every year including nose jobs and liposuction.

Glee actress admits to having breast implants

99364705Heather Morris, who plays Britney S Pierce in hit television drama Glee, has finally admitted to having breast enlargement surgery.

Morris has repeatedly denied having cosmetic surgery since she rose to fame, claiming that her curvy figure was down to clever underwear and not surgical enhancements. But in a recent interview with Fitness magazine, the 24-year-old admitted that she had breast implants when she was younger but that she subsequently had them removed because they caused problems when she was working out.
