Twiggy says ‘maybe’ to cosmetic surgery at 70

Original supermodel “Twiggy” – real name Lesley Lawson – has revealed that she would consider having cosmetic surgery when she turns 70.

In a recent interview with Woman magazine, the 62-year-old said: “I do know people who have had nips and tucks done very well and who look refreshed so I understand it.”

The face of Marks & Spencer added: “I haven’t had anything done yet but maybe when I’m 70 and think it’s time to have something done – never say never. But I would say to anyone, research your surgeon very, very well.”

Plastic surgeon says social media could support rise in cosmetic surgery procedures

A US doctor who specialises in plastic surgery has suggested that social media will play an increasingly important role in promoting his industry.

Dr Grady Core, a board-certified plastic surgeon who runs his own practice in Birmingham, Alabama, said he expects social media to help encourage more people to turn to cosmetic surgery as a way of maintaining and improving their appearance.

Surgeons building online presence using social media

More and more medical professionals are choosing to communicate with patients using social media and other online channels.

Thomas Lee, a surgeon at the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Centre in Westerville, Ohio, is one such professional.

“It’s an electronic way of extending the conversation,” says Mr Lee.

“It creates a vibrant sense of community and a wonderful back-and-forth dialogue.”

Generation X defying US economy by opting for cosmetic surgery

Generation X is defying the struggling US economy by shelling out their hard-earned wages on cosmetic surgery.

According to a recent study by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), in 2010, 43 per cent of all cosmetic surgery procedures were carried out on those aged between 31 and 45 – ‘Generation X’. Those aged between 51 and 64 – the so-called ‘baby boomers’ – accounted for just 28 per cent.

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese is internationally renowned for her incredible body and suggestive stage routines. And according to the performer, her figure can be put down to a combination of good genes, healthy eating and on occasion cosmetic procedures.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Von Teese said choosing the right foods is an important part of staying healthy and keeping in shape. She said sugar is one foodstuff that she has cut out completely by training her body not to crave it.

TOWIE star shows off ‘boob job’ in barely-there dress

Chloe Sims, star of ITV2 reality television show The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), was last night spotted wearing a dress that revealed her cosmetically enhanced bust.

Sims, 30, wore a black dress with a neckline that was slashed almost to the waist, revealing her slim figure and the results of her breast enlargement surgery. The outfit sparked rumours that there is rivalry between the TOWIE girls after Lauren Pope was spotted in a red dress that left very little to the imagination.

Alternative uses revealed for popular line and wrinkle treatment

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is looking to pass approval for Botox to be used to treat jaw pain.

Botox, which is already used extensively to minimise lines and wrinkles, and to a slightly lesser extent to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), could soon be used to treat jaw muscle disorders.

Publicist tells actress to get breast reduction for Hollywood

Sofia Vergara, star of hit US TV show Modern Family, has spoken about how her ex-publicist told her to get the size of her breasts reduced when she started out in showbusiness.

The 39-year-old Colombian, who stars on the cover of this month’s Health magazine, said she was advised that unless she underwent breast reduction surgery, no one would take her seriously. The voluptuous actress decided to ignore the advice after consulting her mother who she said “almost had a heart attack”.
