Surge in line and wrinkle injections for men attributed to Simon Cowell and Gordon Ramsay

One in five Botox patients is now male.

This is according to a report published by The Sun, in which The Harley Medical Group was quoted as seeing a five per cent rise in the number of male Botox patients in the last 12 months.

Dr Aamer Khan of a skin clinic on Harley Street in London said: “Botox for men is a growing market. It is becoming more and more acceptable. We see a lot of men who just want a fresher, more youthful appearance.

Nose reshaping surgery revealed ‘undiscovered abnormalities’

A man who decided to visit a cosmetic surgeon in order to have his ‘crooked nose’ straightened got the surprise of his life when a tumour was discovered in his nostril.

The 32-year-old media consultant from the United Arab Emirates told doctors that he’d had breathing problems for more than a year and tended to snore at night, according to a report by the Hindustan Times.

Prevention better than cure for ‘turkey necks’

Anti-ageing skincare is the key to preventing the dreaded ‘turkey neck’ look, which many women dread but do nothing to try and stop.

According to skincare distributor Sue Dann, the neck, chest and hands can give away age and women should give these areas as much attention as they give to the face when it comes to anti-ageing.

“Women are mostly concerned with the face so their skin care regime stops there,” says Sue Dann.

Man makeovers take over – from teeth whitening to laser hair removal

More men are deciding to change their appearance and opt for a ‘man makeover’ or ‘man-over’, in a bid to reinvent themselves.

According to a report by Grazia Daily, while it’s nothing new for men to change their look and adopt a different style, an increasing number of them are doing so. High profile ‘man-overs’ involving Australian cricketer Shane Warne, actor Hugh Laurie and singer Gary Barlow are said to have helped spark a new wave of makeovers.

Former Miss America reveals thoughts on line and wrinkle injectables

Former Miss America and star of hit US show Ugly Betty, Vanessa Williams, has revealed her attitude towards Botox.

Writing in her memoir, entitled You Have No Idea, Williams states that “no one talks about it [Botox], but everyone does it”. She goes on to say that she ensures her doctors perform the procedure gently so as not to impede the facial expressions she needs in order to be a successful actress.

Simon Cowell’s extensive anti-ageing regime revealed

An unauthorised book about Simon Cowell has revealed all sorts of interesting things about the music mogul, not least his fling with fellow X Factor judge Dannii Minogue, and his demands for twice-yearly Botox injections.

The 52-year-old is said to have Botox injections every six months, have fresh fruit delivered to him every day, demand black toilet paper and have regular colonic irrigation – all to keep himself looking young and fresh-faced.

53% of Americans spend money on anti-ageing, including liposuction

Wealthy Americans are spending their money on expensive anti-ageing treatments, weight loss and techniques to help maintain a good memory.

This is according to a recent survey which found that 53 per cent of Americans who earn $150,000 per year or more are spending money on keeping the visible signs of ageing at bay – including weight loss and liposuction to keep themselves in shape.

Breast reduction can reduce headaches, backache and much more

An Illinois-based plastic surgeon has said he is unsurprised by the results of new research which have pointed to a high rate of patient satisfaction among women who have undergone breast reduction surgery.

A report published in the March issue of the online journal Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery said patients had later pointed to a range of improvements in their health. While some women said that following an operation they had experienced fewer headaches and better breathing, others pointed to improved sleeping patterns and reduced musculoskeletal pain.

Olympic beach volleyball player advocates permanent hair removal

Tickets for the London 2012 Olympic beach volleyball matches were some of the most sought after following their release last year, and with 96 bronzed and toned athletes due to do battle in central London, it’s not hard to see why.

With just 100 days left to go until the start of the competition, Horse Guards Parade will be transformed into a beach paradise with the help of more than 2,000 tonnes of sand. Athletes will perform in a 15,000-seater stadium and with the eyes of the world upon them, it’s no surprise they want to look their best.

Nose jobs and liposuction top cosmetic surgery procedures for men

A recent article published in the LA Times has revealed that more men are undergoing cosmetic surgery procedures than ever before.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the number of men choosing to undergo cosmetic procedures has increased by 121 per cent over the last 14 years, with liposuction now being the most common procedure for men to choose.
