Burlesque shows are becoming more and more popular in the UK these days as ladies and men enjoy an evening of entertainment that celebrates the body. Normally these shows have a strip tease element these days, but a lot of the time they mix in a lot of comedy and entertaining short storylines or skits to make sure they appeal to lots of people. I’ve been to a few burlesque shows myself over the last few years and enjoyed them, but the thing that’s really interesting me about burlesque these days is the way that some people are really taking parts of its philosophy on board. Weddings bring out the best

As I think mentioned earlier this year, one of my friends is soon to get married and I’ve been having a lot of fun this summer helping her with the preparations. From helping her mum choose which non surgical solution to help her get ready for the big day (she had Botox in the end) to going dress shopping (which is just as much fun as it sounds), I have to say that I’ve been swept up in the excitement of the whole affair and now I can’t wait for the big day. Boob jobs overtake liposuction in US cosmetic surgery

After years of market domination, figures reveal that breast surgery has overtaken liposuction as the most popular cosmetic surgery in the United States.

According to figures from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, nearly 344,700 of the 10.2 million cosmetic surgery procedures last year were breast augmentations. This marked the first time that boob jobs have proved more popular than body reshaping in the form of liposuction in the US. (more…)

If there’s one thing we all know affects your self confidence, it’s being teased. And if there’s one thing we know children are especially bad, for it’s teasing other children. So it’s little wonder that many children end up with hang ups about their looks. Although it’s hardly just children that suffer these taunts, people of all ages can be cruel when it comes to appearances. Things like sticky-out ears, unusual body shapes or prominent noses are just the kind of distinctive bodily features that are likely to get picked on. (more…)
