Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian came in top with 31 per cent of the votes each, Beyonce came a close third with 24 per cent, followed by Miranda Kerr and Christina Hendricks each with seven per cent. Madonna and Dawn French got no votes from Facebook fans.

The deadline for entering this year’s Emmy Awards has passed and with the announcement of nominations came a flurry of cosmetic surgery rumours.

The impressive list of nominees for this year’s awards includes star of Mad Men Christina Hendricks, Saturday Night Live’s Kristen Wilig, and mistress of comedy Julie Bowen. Hendricks has inspired a generation of women to embrace their curves and boosted the number of women enquiring about breast enlargement surgery, but she has also been the subject of rumours that she has had breast implants herself. The curvy red-head strongly denies this and supposed before and after images could just has easily show a gain in overall body weight as it could a boob job.

The number of breast enlargement surgery procedures performed in the UK has risen by 10 per cent in the last year, to 9,418, according to the latest figures from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).

Cosmetic surgery experts have attributed this rise in demand to curvaceous and voluptuous celebrities, such as the star of television drama Mad Men, Christina Hendricks. The 35-year-old actress is a size 14 and plastic surgeons believe that more and more women are aspiring to have figures like these celebrities, rather than those who are stick thin.

According to BAAPS, the number of men and women who had cosmetic surgery in 2010 totalled 38,274.

In an interview with the Daily Mail Online, consultant plastic surgeon and president of the BAAPS Fazel Fatah, said: “The public’s interest in aesthetic surgery remained strong in spite of the economic downturn.

“Procedures showing the more considerable rise during this period seem to be, perhaps not surprisingly, concentrated on the most visible areas of the body: facelifts, breasts and nose jobs”.

The current trend for curvaceous stars of the small screen could have an effect on the number of boob jobs taking place in the UK, according to some cosmetic surgery insiders.

According to Cosmetic News Portal, cosmetic surgeon Laurence Kirwan claims the influence of busty celebrities such as Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks could boost the number of women considering breast augmentation.

Dr Kinwan explained that “seeing Christina Hendricks’ womanly curves on our TV screens is not only a morale booster for well-endowed women but also emphasises the fact that a voluptuous bosom is an asset.” (more…)
