Amanda Holden wants to look like Joan Rivers

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has revealed that she’d like to look like Joan Rivers – one of the biggest advocates of cosmetic surgery in show business – when she gets older.

In an interview with Heat magazine, the 38-year-old said: “I want to look like Joan Rivers. I don’t see the point in growing old gracefully.” (more…)

US soap star Lisa Rinna reveals plastic surgery past

US soap star Lisa Rinna has revealed the plastic surgery procedures she has undergone in the past, in a frank interview on MSNBC’s Today show.

The 45-year-old actress, who has appeared in popular American soap operas Days of our Lives and Melrose Place, said she had silicone injections in her upper lip 23 years ago. However, the silicone hardened over time and Rinna has since also had steroid injections to soften her upper lip. Today, lip surgery is usually carried out through the injection of dermal fillers. Joan Rivers talks straight about cosmetic surgery

Joan Rivers, comedian and straight-talking cosmetic surgery icon, has just announced a four-night live stand-up act in New York, shortly after releasing a pair of new books.

Ms Rivers’ new books straddle two sides of the writing divide: in February 2009, she released the fictional story Murder at the Academy Awards: A Red Carpet Mystery; and in December last year, her non-fiction account hit the shelves, entitled Men Are Stupid… And They Like Big Boobs: A Woman’s Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery. Here’s a searching question for all you beauty queens: how old were you when you first started wearing make-up? I begged my mum to buy me some eyeliner when I was eight but it wasn’t until I was 14 that she let me dabble with her make-up. She let me buy my own soon enough after that- sorry for ruining all your favourite lipsticks mum. I can understand why she tried to hold me off now; after all, she just wanted me to enjoy being a kid for as long as possible. But, as I continued to long for that first splash of black (or purple!) on my lids or that subtle hint of rouge on my cheekbones, the mesmerising thought of wearing make-up and “being grown-up” never left my mind. Joan Rivers shows off cosmetic surgery as new play opens in London

As Joan Rivers new play, A Work in Progress by a Life in Progress, opens at the West End, attention has turned once again to the numerous cosmetic surgery procedures she has undergone in an effort to turn back the ageing process.

The 75-year-old comedian, famous for her brash New York accent and frank approach to plastic surgery, is said to have had two facelifts, one rhinoplasty and an eye tuck. (more…)
