Veteran pop star Madonna and star of Sex in the City Kim Cattrall have sparked rumours that they have given up on the anti-ageing quest.
Both women appeared on the red carpet at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan for the premier of Madonna’s new film W.E. at the weekend, and both bore the natural signs of ageing – something both have famously kept at bay to date.
Star of Sex in the City Kim Cattrall has spoken out in defence of older women in Hollywood, saying it’s unfair that they are not allowed to age or have cosmetic surgery.
Speaking to Psychologies magazine, Cattrall said: “I think the scrutiny of women is obscene.
“If you don’t do anything, you’re like an old hag; and if you do, you’re a plastic surgeon ‘victim’. Where can we go to age with respect and dignity? People won’t let us, particularly in America. It’s just so cruel.”
