A photograph that apparently shows pop princess Cheryl Cole with hugely inflated lips has been published online.
The photograph, published by Cole herself on Twitter and picked up by Metro online, actually shows the 28-year-old posing wearing a large pair of bright red rubber lips. She also wore a pair of oversized sunglasses and tweeted jokingly about being in LA for too long.
“I think we’ve been in LA too long.. LMHO!! [laughing my head off],” she wrote.

X Factor contestant Sami Brookes has revealed that she would spend her prize money on liposuction and a tummy tuck if she wins the ITV talent show.
The 31-year-old from Rhyl in North Wales has been on a diet since she got through the initial rounds of the singing contest, but says she has put on weight as a result.

Americans who choose to go abroad for cosmetic surgery such as liposuction can save up to $6,500 (£4,150).
This is according to a recent report by Reuters, published to illustrate the rise in medical tourism. The report looks at the potential savings to be made from travelling abroad for surgery, but also at concerns that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has about this trend.

Continued growth of the plastic surgery market is in large part due to “mummy makeovers”, says one plastic surgeon.
Dr Thomas Lintner, a cosmetic surgery in Atlanta, USA, believes that of the 1.6 million surgical procedures recorded by The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) in 2010, a large proportion were probably women looking to regain their pre-pregnancy figures.

Liposuction could not only remove excess fat from the body but it could also reduce the risk of heart disease.
This is according to a new study presented by researchers at The American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ (ASPS) annual conference, held in Denver, USA. Research also found that in 2010, more than 200,000 Americans opted for liposuction surgery, making it the fourth-most popular cosmetic surgery procedure.

Liposuction operations, designed to remove excess fat from specific areas of the body, may actually help reduce the amount of harmful fat circulating in the blood, according to new research.
The US study, which was led by Kansas-based plastic surgeon Dr Eric Swanson, took 229 liposuction patients and measured their triglyceride levels – a mechanism used by the body to store excess calories.

A significant number of people who undergo weight loss surgery are unaware of the cosmetic follow-up procedures available to them.
According to research conducted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 75 percent of bariatric patients were unaware of body contouring, which can be used to help remove excess skin following rapid weight loss.

A plastic surgeon in America has opened a fat bank so that patients who have had liposuction surgery can store their fat and use it at a later date.
The move comes as fat transfer procedures – which see fat being taken from one area of the body and put into another to reshape particular body parts – rise in popularity.
