Kim Kardashian has revealed that since being turned down for a nose job, she has had to find poses that make her nose look ‘less Armenian’.
The socialite and reality television star, who is half American and half Armenian, told reporters that she wanted cosmetic surgery on her nose but her surgeon refused on the grounds that it wasn’t necessary.

Nose jobs are on the rise among those from different ethnic backgrounds, according to the president-elect of The Rhinoplasty Society.
Dr Rod Rohrich has noticed a shift in the reasons behind those from non-Caucasian ancestry enquiring about rhinoplasty, or nose reshaping surgery.
“It’s becoming more accepted for people who have noses with pronounced ethnic characteristics to opt for surgical refinement that helps them blend into American society better, as well as correcting individual facial deviations that make them stand out uncomfortably,” said Dr Rohrich.
“Every patient is different, but more patients than ever want to preserve ethnic characteristics while correcting individual facial features. Patients with non-Caucasian ancestry used to ask for Caucasian-type noses, which usually resulted in an over-operated and unnatural look,” he added.
He made his observations at a symposium on the subject of ethnic rhinoplasty at the annual meeting of The Rhinoplasty Society, at which he encouraged fellow cosmetic surgeons to prepare for this increase. He advised careful study of Caucasian and ethnic nose shapes, bone structure and skin type in order to offer patients the most appropriate procedure.

Reality television star Heidi Montag has decided not to have any more cosmetic surgery now, but she is adamant that things might change as she gets older.
At a Hollywood party last night, the 24-year-old told US Weekly magazine: “For this moment I don’t want anything to do with plastic surgery!”
But she went on to add: “Obviously when I get a little older, I’ll take it from there.”
In 2009, Montag admitted to having ten procedures done in one day and she is currently recovering from a nose job, eyebrow lift, cheekbone and chin reshaping, breast enlargement and dermal filler injections.
In the past she has admitted to feeling fragile following surgery and her larger bust makes it difficult to jog or partake in intense physical exercise.
Having taken a break from the Hollywood lifestyle for the last six months, Montag will soon be back in the limelight thanks to VH1’s new reality television show, Famous Food. The programme sees seven celebrities trying to open a new restaurant and make it profitable.

Britney Spears is still being dogged by rumours that she has undergone a number of plastic surgery procedures over the last few years, despite suggesting in a recent interview that she hadn’t yet had surgery but wouldn’t rule it out in the future.
Last month, the pop star told Out magazine that she was excited about turning 30 this year and that “when it’s time to pull and tuck, I’m sure I will consider it”.
Experts have suggested that the singer has already had liposuction surgery, a tummy tuck, dermal lip fillers, breast implants and further surgery to replace the original implants with smaller ones.
She is also rumoured to have had a nose job early on in her career, but surgeons suggest that because she was already in the limelight and didn’t want the press to notice, she chose to go for a smaller version of her natural nose, rather than to change the shape of it completely.

Italian-born American actress Rose McGowan is feeding the Hollywood rumour mill, since appearing in Wednesday’s episode of Law and Order: SVU looking remarkably different to normal.
The 37-year-old admitted to having reconstructive plastic surgery after the skin underneath her eye was badly cut during a car accident in 2007, but some plastic surgeons suspect that the actress has had further work done since.
Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr Jennifer Walden told PopEater: “It’s a possibility that she had eyelid surgery and is blaming her lower lid drooping on having cut her eye”, she said.
“I think she’s had soft tissue fillers injected into her face, into her lips, her cheeks, and that has led to a more unnatural look”, she added.
Dr Walden went on to say that it looked as though McGowan had also had a nose job, and to warn people that having too many dermal fillers too young can actually cause premature ageing.

England rugby star Mike Tindall has been asked by his future mother-in-law, Princess Anne, to consider having a nose job before he weds her daughter Zara Phillips.
Tindall, who has had his nose broken eight times during his sporting career, let the royal remark slip during filming of Sky 1 show A League of Their Own. He said: “Princess Anne has asked me if I’d have the surgery. She’s a bit worried about how the wedding photos might turn out!”
The 32-year-old’s s-shaped nose is famous and has its own dedicated Facebook page – called Mike Tindall’s nose – which boasts 249 fans.
Tindall has yet to confirm or deny whether he plans to carry out Princess Anne’s request, but he is no stranger to nose reshaping surgery. In the past he had two metal plates inserted to keep his nose straight, but the effects only lasted until he played rugby again, when a high tackle put his nose right back to where it started!

This year’s annual Academy Awards – the Oscars – placed celebrities who have had cosmetic surgery and those who have not side by side, revealing a divide in opinion that was clear for all to see.
Stars who graced the red carpet included pregnant actress Natalie Portman, who had a nose job early on in her career, Sandra Bullock, who has had a series of Botox injections over the years, and Cameron Diaz, who also had rhinoplasty in 2007 to repair damage sustained to her nose in an accident.
Actresses photographed who have famously abstained from undergoing cosmetic surgery procedures included haute couture designer Diane Von Furstenberg, 64, singer and actress Jennifer Hudson, 29, and actress Juliette Lewis.
The majority of women who had not had plastic surgery said they were not against it, just as long as people chose to have it for the right reasons.

Shane Warne, Sam Newman, and Paul Hogan are all famous Australian men who have reportedly turned to cosmetic surgery and non-surgical solutions to stave off the visible effects of getting older.
One-time world record wicket-taking spin bowler Shane Warne has had his teeth whitened, ex-Aussie Rules footballer and now actor Sam Newman had Botox live on air, and Paul Hogan, best known for his role as Michael “Crocodile” Dundee is rumoured to have had a face lift.
But it’s not just these three Aussie icons that have taken advantage of cosmetic advances – according to a report published in the Sydney Morning Herald 20 per cent of all patients are men. This is an increase of 10 per cent on the same figures from five years ago and experts say that 10 years ago the very few male patients undergoing surgery did so for medical reasons.
Chris Moss, consultant plastic surgeon in Melbourne, said: “Now we get a lot of men coming in for things like rhinoplasty, upper and lower eyelid lifts, neck lifts and then things like Botox and fillers.”
Moss attributes the rise in men opting for cosmetic surgery to reality television shows that have removed the taboo, saying that it has “become a bit more normal and therefore less intimidating for men to go down that path.”

The changing faces of pop stars, singers and musicians stole the show at this year’s Grammy Awards, with the results of a variety of cosmetic surgery procedures on show during performances, awards and acceptance speeches.
Controversial pop star Lady Gaga, who was spotted wearing a bra and not much else at the official after-show party, has reportedly had a nose job. Singer LeAnn Rimes is rumoured to have had breast implants, and veteran pop star Cyndi Lauper had recovered from her recent medical microdermabrasions, and was looking fresh-faced on the red carpet.
Self-confessed plastic surgery fan Cher also made an appearance. She has admitted to having had nose reshaping surgery and breast enlargement surgery, and rumours are rife that she has also had eyelid surgery and a face lift.
Kelly Osbourne and mum Sharon were also in attendance, with the latter apparently looking so youthful as a result of a brow lift, liposuction and a tummy tuck.

The NHS is looking to cut the number of surgical procedures it carries out such as non-essential nose jobs and tummy tucks, in a bid to save money.
The recession means that local Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) across the UK are looking at ways to reduce costs without cutting back on essential healthcare services.
Manchester PCT has recently introduced a system that will sift through all GP referrals and deny cosmetic treatments such as tummy tucks and nose jobs which have not been advised as a way of treating a medical problem or condition.
Liam McGrogan, chair of NHS Manchester’s Clinic Commissioning Committee, said: “It is ensuring that public money is only used to pay for treatment which is clinically effective”.
Before these cuts were introduced, rhinoplasty (nose job) operations and other plastic surgery procedures were carried out for free by the NHS for those people with a medical need. Some cosmetic procedures were also carried out for those who were believed to be suffering serious emotional distress as a direct result of the way they looked.
