This year’s MTV music awards have sparked further rumours of stars such as Britney Spears choosing to have cosmetic surgery procedures.

Spears, 29, who won the Video Vanguard Award and the award for the Best Pop Video, and Lady Gaga, 25, winter of the Best Female Video award and Best Video with a Message award, were the two celebrities causing the most stir. Gaga recently denied that the horn-like lumps on her head and shoulders were artificial and denies having had a nose job, despite before and after pictures strongly suggesting otherwise.

Labour leader Ed Miliband has undergone nose reshaping surgery in a bid to cure his sleep apnoea.

A friend of the politician denied rumours that the operation was to make his voice sound less nasal, and confirmed that he sounds exactly the same as he did before the surgery. The procedure was said to have cost the taxpayer £1,300 and focused on correcting a deviated septum, which can make the condition of sleep apnoea worse.

A spokeswoman for the Labour leader said: “He is now recovering for a few days before going on holiday with his family.”

Teenagers opt for nose and ear reshaping surgery, young adults choose breast augmentation, those entering middle age pick liposuction and eye bag removal is most popular with those in old age.

These are the findings of two sets of statistics – one from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the other from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). The Orange County Register pulled together the statistics, which focus entirely on female patients, and published ‘Plastic Surgery From Teenage to Old’ today.

America reality television star Vienna Girardi has made her first public appearance since having nose reshaping surgery.

The 25-year-old, who made a name for herself after appearing on reality dating show The Bachelor in America, had the cosmetic surgery earlier this month in Houston, Texas. Latest pictures see her looking a little swollen and with a bandage on her nose as she made her way through the arrivals hall at Los Angeles International airport.

Legendary singer Cher has revealed that she sees old age as something that just gets in the way of her life as a performer.

Despite turning 65 this year, Cher is in incredibly good shape but says she is not one of those women who is prepared to grow old gracefully.

She said: “I would love to be one of those women who are just so happy with their age and all that – but I just don’t believe it. For me, old age just gets in my way.”

Socialite and friend to the royals Tara Palmer-Tomkinson has spoken out about her second nose job, saying it makes her feel 10 years younger.

A party lifestyle and subsequent drug habit destroyed the nasal septum – the cartilage separating the nostrils – and she has had it rebuilt for a second time. She had nose reshaping surgery in 2006 but the results didn’t last long because she missed nine of her 12 scheduled follow-up appointments and began experimenting with dermal fillers.

Lauren Pope, a cast member on the current series of ITV2’s The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE), has revealed that she wants more nose reshaping surgery.

Fresh from the clinic and with no visible bruising or swelling, the 27-year-old glamour model reveals that she likes her new nose but that it is still not quite perfect. Surgeons have warned Pope that any further cosmetic surgery performed to reshape the tip of the nose could result in a collapse of the cartilage and to therefore steer clear of further work.

Stars of The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE), Kirk Norcross and Lauren Pope, have revealed that they both underwent nose reshaping surgery at the same time.

The pair, who feature in the current series of the ITV2 reality television show, were spotted leaving a London clinic with bandaged faces. Pope later tweeted the announcement to fans, saying: “Morning all! So another day indoors for me and Kirk. On the agenda today is baking cakes. Will tweet some pics when they’re done!

Reality television star Heidi Montag has revealed that her bikini body is down to cosmetic surgery and to working out for 14 hours each day.

The 24-year-old has lost 27 pounds in two weeks and has posed for photographs in a peach-coloured bikini to show off her newly toned figure. Montag was already very slim but has told US Magazine that after 10 cosmetic surgery procedures, and an unrelenting exercise regime, she is happy with the way she looks. (more…)

Kim Kardashian has revealed that since being turned down for a nose job, she has had to find poses that make her nose look ‘less Armenian’.

The socialite and reality television star, who is half American and half Armenian, told reporters that she wanted cosmetic surgery on her nose but her surgeon refused on the grounds that it wasn’t necessary.
