Breast augmentation is now a sought-after birthday present

Increasing numbers of young women in the United States are requesting breast augmentation as a birthday present or a graduation gift.

According to health news site Natural News, one New York-based plastic surgeon claimed that he had seen a 20 to 30 per cent rise in cosmetic surgery procedures among young people in recent years.

Speaking on the rise in breast surgery, he said: “There are girls and women who are devastated by the fact that they don’t have breasts and their friends do. They don’t play gymnastics and they don’t go on dates or they can’t wear certain clothing, and I hear these things every day.” (more…)

Over the years I’ve become quite a fan of glamour model and all round star Jordan. She only really caught my attention when she showed up on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2004 and her budding romance with Peter Andre – now her hubby – had me and my old flatmate glued to the screen. Reality TV fuels demand for cosmetic surgery

A new report published in the Medical Journal of Australia has suggested that an increase in cosmetic surgery procedures over the last few years could be connected to the rise of reality TV programmes.

According to the data, four out of five patients surveyed seeking first-time cosmetic surgery stated that they were influenced by reality television shows about plastic surgery. (more…)
