Thursday, October 7th, 2010

Peter Andre has turned to tattoo-removing cosmetic surgery ahead of a court battle with ex-wife Katie Price in order to successfully remove an inking of the glamour model’s first name from his ring finger, the Daily Mail reports.

Aware that tattoo removal can often cause extensive scarring that may only be properly remedied by scar removal treatments, Peter explained he was initially wary of undergoing tattoo removing surgery, confessing, “I didn’t want to have scars all over my hands.” (more…)

Kerry Katona turns to non surgical tummy tightening solutions

Friday, October 1st, 2010

The Daily Mail reports that ex-Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona has undergone tummy tightening non surgical treatments, in a bid to look her best ahead of her career re-launching appearance on the next series of Dancing on Ice, which begins early next year.

The Mail reports that Kerry has turned to tummy tightening non surgical solutions treatments, often a precursor to tummy tuck surgery, following her dramatic weight-loss, which has seen the TV celebrity drop several dress sizes after enlisting the help of a ‘boot camp’-style personal trainer.

Kerry’s weight loss and newly tightened tummy seem to be part of a wider image overhaul or ‘mummy makeover’ that has also seen the star and mother of four dress more stylishly and sport a new and sleek bobbed hairdo following her split from partner Mark Croft.

A fan of cosmetic surgery, Kerry has previously undergone surgery worth £15,000 ahead of a photo-shoot with ZOO magazine in 2008.

At the time, Kerry told the Daily Mail “I feel sexier, my confidence has come back and everyone keeps telling me how amazing I look, which is really cool,” Katona’s extensive plastic surgery before the glamour shoot included a boob job.

Dancing on Ice
pairs celebrities with ice skating professionals, in competition against each other, under the guidance of Olympic gold-winners Torvill and Dean. Kerry will be featured on the show’s sixth season.

Overcoming a real confidence killer

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Here at The Harley Medical Group, I quite often see people who have some pretty bad confidence problems. One of my favourite parts of the job has to be seeing the way that some people come to us feeling really bad about themselves, then leave feeling a whole lot better after their surgery or non surgical treatments. However, it’s not often I see anyone so in need of a confidence boost as Gail Edwards.

I read about Gail in The Scottish Sun today. She’s a beautiful woman who married her ex-husband when she was only 22, only for him to try and kill her 20 years later. After suffering physical and mental abuse at his hands for so long, Gail understandably found it very hard to get over the experience – even when her ex-husband was jailed.

The brave mother of two found herself still struggling to readjust three years after the final attack, and finally decided she’d use the money left to her by her mother to have cosmetic surgery. Gail chose to have a tummy tuck and liposuction and now feels that she’s found a way to take control of her life and her future again – by boosting her self confidence.

She explained: “It might sound odd, but cosmetic surgery helped me get my life back together. It helped lay the demons to rest.”

Good luck to her is all I can say, that and congratulations for getting her life back on track despite being in such a destructive relationship for so long.

90 per cent of Brits now consider cosmetic surgery

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

More Brits have expressed their desire for cosmetic surgery enhancements than ever before, with 90 per cent saying they had thought about improving some part of their body through surgery.

A survey of 2,500 women reported by the Metro revealed that the summer weather is causing more women across Britain to look towards plastic surgery as a way to achieve their ideal bikini body. The most common area women said they wanted to improve was their stomachs, with 68 per cent expressing desire for a tummy tuck.

In second place was liposuction – previously claimed to be the world’s most popular procedure – with 29 per cent saying they wanted the treatment to get rid of excess fat.

After the tummy, the areas of the body women said they were least happy with were their legs, bottoms and busts, with four per cent saying they would choose some form of breast surgery and six per cent desiring cosmetic surgery on their buttocks. The most frequently cited celebrity inspirations for women’s bodies were cosmetic surgery fans Kelly Brook and Katie Price.

Non surgical treatments such as Botox and laser hair removal were found to be popular too, though were considered less vital to achieving a beach body. Only 10 per cent of the women questioned said they would not consider any form of enhancement, suggesting cosmetic surgery is becoming ever more popular.
