Treatments you can trust | Harley Medical Group

There is no Government regulation of cosmetic injectable treatments, consequently The Independent Health Advisory Service (IHAS), in association with the Department of Health, Care Quality Commission and the Health Protection Agency, has developed and maintain best practice standards for cosmetic injectable treatments. Their guide covers the essential requirements of medicines safety, infection control, education and training.

Treatments You Can Trust helps guide you to making a safe choice for your injectable treatments, such as Botox and Dermal Fillers. It does so by giving you the assurance that providers registered with the scheme are practising in accordance with a set of recognised standards and that you be in the care of a specially qualified doctor, dentist or registered nurse..

At The Harley Medical Group we take pride in working closely with the Independent Health Advisory Service, and all of the clinics in our group are registered with Treatments You Can Trust.

So what should you do when choosing non surgical treatments such as fillers and injectable line and wrinkle treatments? Look out for the IHAS quality mark!

From a Treatments You Can Trust Release Monday 1st August 2016

Patients, service users and the public are able to choose a doctor, dentist or registered nurse practising injectable cosmetic treatments belonging to a register vetted and approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, an independent statutory body, accountable to Parliament. The Treatments You Can Trust register has been accredited under the Accredited Registers programme. Doctors, Dentists or Registered nurses on the Treatment You Can Trust register will be able to display the Accredited Register quality mark, a sign that they belong to a register which meets the Professional Standards Authority’s robust standards.

Sally Taber, Director, Treatments You Can Trust said:

The quality mark will give extra peace of mind for anyone looking for a doctor, dentist or registered nurse, letting them know that anyone who holds the Quality Mark is committed to high standards. Treatments You Can Trust is pleased to offer the quality mark to doctors, dentists or registered nurses providing injectable cosmetic treatments that meet the far reaching standards of our register, as approved by the Professional Standards Authority.

Harry Cayton, Chief Executive of the Professional Standards Authority said:

We are very pleased to accredit the Treatments You Can Trust register of doctors, dentists and registered nurses. Bringing doctors, dentists and registered nurses providing injectable cosmetic treatments into a broad framework of assurance is good for patients, service users and the public and is the best way to promote quality. The programme offers enhanced consumer protection to anyone looking for health and social care services, and gives doctors, dentists and registered nurses providing injectable cosmetic treatments the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to good practice.
