Watford breast lift overview
Medically Reviewed April 2023, by Claire Clarke - Head of Surgical Services for The Harley Medical Group
Mastopexy, commonly known as breast uplift, is a surgical procedure that addresses sagging breasts. It can effectively lift and reshape your breasts, giving them a pert, firm, and fuller appearance.
The natural ageing process, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and weight fluctuations can all contribute to breast sagging by reducing skin elasticity. This can negatively impact a woman's confidence and self-esteem.
A breast lift involves repositioning the nipple and areola, lifting the breast, and removing excess skin. Women opt for breast uplift surgery for various reasons, such as wanting to improve their breast and nipple symmetry, increase volume and size, or achieve firmer and more youthful-looking breasts.
If you have noticed a loss of fullness and support in your breasts, breast uplift surgery may be a suitable option for you.

Is a breast uplift right for me?
Women who are dissatisfied with the size or symmetry of their breasts often choose to undergo breast augmentation with implants. However, if you are dealing with sagging, droopy breasts or are unhappy with the position of your nipple and areola, a breast uplift may be a more appropriate solution for you.
The procedure for breast uplift in Watford
During a breast uplift procedure, your surgeon will make an incision around the areola and vertically beneath the breast. In some cases, they may also make an incision in the crease beneath the breast. Excess skin will be removed from underneath the breast, and the breast tissue will be reshaped and tightened to lift the breast and reposition the nipples higher. The size of the areola can also be reduced if desired. If a breast augmentation is being performed concurrently, the surgeon will also insert the implants to achieve a natural-looking breast shape.

Additionally, it can be helpful to request more information about their experience and patient outcomes, and view before and after pictures of their previous patients.
