Why do we get them?
Spots or acne can affect you at any age and they usually come about due to hormonal changes, but they can also be made worse by a bad diet or skincare regime. Because our hormone levels are particularly unstable during our teenage years, and during pregnancy for women, these are the times in our life when we’re more prone to blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and acne. However, certain medical conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) can cause an imbalance which can result in acne and excessive hair on the face and body.
Prevention and Reduction
For a lot of people, eating healthily, drinking plenty of water and finding face wash, toner and moisturiser that works for your skin type mean spots are generally kept at bay. For others it’s not always that simple, and while these things can certainly help, often it takes more than a good exfoliating face scrub to achieve clear, spot-free skin.
Effective treatments for spots
We’ve already treated thousands of men and women with acne, rosacea and other skin conditions and we’re confident we can help you regain the clear, youthful skin you want. We offer several different treatments for spots that are all highly effective. PPx/Isolaz laser treatment for spots is approved by the FDA for quick, painless and effective treatment of spots, acne and rosacea. Clinical studies have demonstrated that most patients notice a quick improvement in the condition of their skin, often within 24 and 48 hours of treatment, and usually require between four and six sessions for the best results.
The Obagi Blue skin peel is also proven to be effective in reducing the appearance and frequency of spots, as well as for rejuvenating the skin and fading fine lines and wrinkles. When the mixture is peeled away, dead skin cells are removed and healthier cells replace them, giving you radiant skin.
