In 2000 Mr Baker qualified as a Doctor after completing his medical studies at Cambridge University. And while working at the General Surgical and Orthopaedic and Trauma Unit in Tamil Nadi, South India, his interest in Plastic Surgery was sparked by assisting in hand trauma and cleft lip and palate surgery. He returned to the UK where he began his training in plastic surgery in 2003 at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital before undertaking a research degree in scarring of the skin at Mount Vernon Hospital for which he won several prizes.
Richard continued his training at some of the most prestigious hospitals which included the Queen Victoria, East Grinstead, the Royal Free and Broomfield. He completed his training in reconstructive surgery in 2014 this also involved visiting prestigious international units such as E’Da Hospital in Taiwan, the Kleinert Institute in Louisville and Santander in Spain.

During his free time, Mr Baker enjoys walking his dogs with his wife and children, keeping fit, reading and amateur artwork. Richard has published numerous scientific articles in highly respected international plastic surgery journals, written a book and contributed to a book chapters.
