Adults and teens alike suffer with blackheads and with so many products available it’s hard to know which ones are right for your skin. Save yourself some money by using natural products that you can find in the cupboards at home. Try these 5 home remedies to clear up your stubborn blackheads.
- Lemon and honey
Lemon juice is a good blackhead remover on its own, but it can irritate sensitive skin. Instead, add some honey to the mixture. The acidity of the lemon causes the skin of the blackhead to peel off, while the honey kills the bacteria that surround it. Paste onto the affected area, wait until it’s dry and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
Toothpaste is a lifelong spot prevention solution and it works just as well on blackheads. Apply a layer to the area of skin that’s suffering with blackheads and wait until it’s dry, then wash it off with water.
- Baking soda
An everyday household essential, baking soda also does wonders for removing blackheads. Mix with water to form a paste and add to blackheads, when it is dry you can wash it off.
- Aloe Vera
Known for its nourishing and healing properties, aloe vera is said to get rid of blackheads while nourishing the skin. Apply the aloe vera gel to the skin and allow to soak in for a couple of minutes, then wash it off. Because it’s kind to skin, aloe vera can be used every day.
