The actress Eva Mendes has told Star Magazine that she would have no problem with undergoing cosmetic surgery when the time is right.

The 34-year-old actress, best known for her role in Will Smith's Hitch, has made a name for herself with her famously trim figure and proudly-held curves.

However, when time takes its toll on her good looks, she seems positive about the effects that plastic surgery could have. She said, "When the time comes, I'm going to nip it and tuck it all."

Mendes recently hit the headlines when a series of Calvin Klein billboard adverts, in which she starred and appeared to be nude, were banned.

In the past, she has also posed topless for Vogue magazine in Italy and was voted seventh in Maxim's Hot 100 list of women for 2007.

In contrast to popular perception of Mendes as one of the world's sexiest women, she recently claimed that she wanted to be a nun. Reportedly, she stated:

"For a while there I wanted to be a nun. Well, that was until my sister told me that they don't get paid. Then I went off the idea really quickly."

Mendes is the latest in a series of female figures who have asserted that they will undergo cosmetic treatments when the time comes.

The trend is not confined to US actresses either. Earlier this year, British starlet Anna Friel claimed that she was "100 per cent" for having cosmetic surgery and non-surgical procedures, like line and wrinkle treatments, when she needed them.

She said: "I don't think that I need Botox or cosmetic surgery right now, but I'm sure I will later on."
