We’re constantly looking for new ways to stay younger for longer – but before you reach for your Anti-Ageing moisturiser for the third time this morning, take a look at these Anti-Ageing methods from around the world.
- Turmeric for skin replenishment
Turmeric is used in many Indian dishes to lend them a yellow-brown colour. This mild spice isn’t just used in cooking however – it’s also commonly used to treat unwanted skin conditions including Acne on account of its anti-bacterial properties.
- Potato slices for reducing dark circles
Here in the UK, it’s natural to turn to cucumber slices in a bid to reduce puffiness under the eyes. In Spain however, they reach for slices of potato. Spanish women place thinly sliced potato over their eyes for around 10 minutes to help lighten the skin, reducing the appearance of dark circles.
- Rice powder for facial exfoliating
For centuries, Japanese geishas are said to have used rice powder to exfoliate their face, leaving them with soft, clear complexions. It works by stimulating the production of collagen, keeping skin’s elasticity and preventing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.
