Brangelina effect continues to influence cosmetic surgery
23 November 2009Plastic surgeons have revealed that the 'Brangelina effect' is continuing to inspire cosmetic surgery choices, with more people wishing to look like Hollywood's most famous couple.CareFair.com reports that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still the most frequently cited celebrity inspirations for plastic surgery. As the couple attracts ever greater legions of devoted fans, who attend red carpet events in the hope of glimpsing their favourite celebrity pairing, new information from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons suggests that men and women are using Brad and Angelina as inspiration when considering cosmetic surgery. Angelina's lips are still the most commonly requested facial feature for women choosing surgery, while Brad's abs are highly in demand for men's cosmetic surgery - though behind Matthew McConaughey, who now provides the biggest celebrity muse for this procedure. The report also revealed that Brad's rear was also the most popular inspiration for men's surgery in that area. This follows recent news that more men in the UK are undergoing surgery as it becomes increasingly accepted, with celebrity figures like chef Gordon Ramsay being frank in their use of surgery to benefit their careers. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons also revealed that Jessica Simpson continues to be the most popular inspiration for boob jobs, and more men are having nose jobs inspired by George Clooney. Older stars are continuing to provide inspiration too, with Arnold Schwarzenegger's chest being the most popular inspiration for men, and more women desiring Madonna's cheekbones.
