Brides opting for line and wrinkle filler treatments pre-wedding
16 July 2012Many older brides in India are choosing to have Botox injections to ensure they look good on their big day. The Oman Tribune reports that Indian women are increasingly waiting until they are in their 30s or 40s to tie the knot because they want to establish a career. However, this means they are very concerned about looking good and often have wrinkle filler treatments before the big day to get rid of frown lines and crows feet. The procedure can also be used to treat excessive sweating. Vandana Chatrath, a cosmetic dermatologist based in Delhi, said there is a huge demand for the treatments. Women plan their wedding and cosmetic treatments well in advance with the help of experts. They do a Botox trial run about three-four months ahead of the wedding day, the expert added. The newspaper states that industry insiders estimate around 65 per cent of women living in Indian cities are not in a rush to get married, while 45 per cent of older brides elect to have Botox before the ceremony. Rashmi Shetty, a cosmetic physician based in Mumbai, urged women to do their research before undergoing the procedure to ensure the doctor they choose is qualified and has a good record.
