Celebrities share their pigmentation woes

It’s not just lines and wrinkles that age you – pigmentation can also make you look older than you are. This common skin care condition is caused by many factors, including sun exposure, hormones, pregnancy and medication. Luckily, there are solutions to treat pigmentation effectively – as some of our favourite celebrities found out.

  • Zoe Foster-Blake

A recent European holiday led Zoe Foster-Blake to bemoan pigmentation. She said: “The worse it gets, the harder it is to shift, and aside of the fact it’s the skin under siege/ an inflammatory response my belief is that it’s uneven skin tone – not wrinkles – that makes the skin look aged.”

So what’s her solution? Wide-brimmed hats, Medical Microdermabrasion, Skin Peels, SPF, antioxidants and pigment inhibitors.

  • Kim Kardashian

Kim is a big fan of preventative solutions for ageing and has spoken out about her love of Laser treatments. She explained: “A major trick of the trade is to get laser treatments… Laser treatments are super cutting edge and I love them as preventative measures to deal with ageing before it happens, like dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles.”

  • Olivia Munn

Believe it or not, even the stunning Olivia Munn has battled with pigmentation, arguing that it has given her a dull complexion. To combat this, she uses skin care products containing glycolic acid and salicylic acid. The result? Flawless, glowing skin.

  • Lara Worthington

Australian model Lara was unfortunate enough to suffer from pigmentation during pregnancy. Here’s her advice for combatting the skin condition: brightening serum nightly, Skin Peels, Medical Microdermabrasion, and Sunscreen - everyday.

  • Jenna Dewan Tatum

Channing Tatum’s wife Jenna also suffered from pigmentation while pregnant with her daughter. The star endured the condition for two years in total before finally finding the solution that worked for her – pigmentation reduction treatment. Here’s how she described it: “OK - I don’t normally post about this stuff but I have to share because this is amazing! […] I have melisma from pregnancy and I swear nothing has worked (and I tried it all!) except this.”
