Man holding gift wrapped voucherCosmetic Surgery is growing in popularity as a Christmas gift for loved ones, according to an American practitioner. Dr Burt Sundin says his is just one practice in Richmond, the capital of Virginia state, which sees a surge in enquiries in the run-up to the festive season. "If plastic surgeons can do it, someone wants it for Christmas," says a report by local news station, WRIC.Dr Sundin said: "Sometimes people get their procedures before the holidays, and sometimes they get little gifts and come in afterwards and get them." One of his patients, Danette Anderson, was interviewed after admitting she had asked her husband for a gift voucher to spend on non-surgical treatments and he had gone along with her request. And as a competitor on the beauty pageant circuit, she said she was pleased he had agreed, calling it "just the perfect gift". What's more, she is planning to ask for the same again for her birthday, she admitted.
