Cosmetic Surgeon predicts popular 2016 procedures
17 December 2015
Cosmetic Surgery is now more popular than ever with increasing numbers of men and women undergoing procedures. 2015 has seen the likes of Butt Lift procedures soar in popularity around the world, but what does the new year have in store? Cosmetic Surgeons share their predictions.
This has been the year for women requesting bigger behinds with 47 per cent of Cosmetic Surgeons claiming to have performed a higher number of Butt Lift procedures than in 2014.
Columbus Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Robert F. Centeno said: “Not a day goes by that I don’t answer one or two requests from women interested in buttocks contouring. I think it’s a trend and that it’s here to stay.
“But similar to Breast Augmentation, I think the trend will evolve to include a more natural look.”
Experts explained that there has been a pattern in Breast Augmentation where patients used to request more noticeable results, while these days, the natural look is more popular. And this trend is predicted to carry over to Butt Lift procedures.
Beverly Hills Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Sheila Nazarian said: “I think that butts will continue to be augmented, but with a more natural-looking emphasis.”
So what about where men are concerned? This year has seen increasing numbers of men opting for Cosmetic Surgery on their eyelids (Blepharoplasty) and chests (Male Chest Reduction). In fact, both procedures are up in 40 per cent of clinics.
Expert Dr. Heidi Waldorf explained the reason behind the increasing numbers of male Cosmetic Surgery. “Like women, men are now feeling pressure to look younger longer, both for economic and social reasons.”
It is likely therefore that 2016 will see an uptick in Anti-Ageing procedures for men.
