64 year old Michael Douglas has recently fallen under scrutiny as many eagle eyed cosmetic surgery experts have noted his appearance continues to appear younger than ever before.

Anthony Youn, a plastic surgeon from Michigan, posted his thoughts on his popular blog, speculating that the Wall Street actor had undergone several types of surgery, including a blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift, as well as one or more facelifts.

Since his controversial marriage to Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, who is exactly 25 years his junior, Michael Douglas may be more concerned with his appearance in relation to that of his wife and it is possible that he has turned to surgery in order to maintain some cohesion between their looks as a couple. Rumours that the actor had undergone a facelift rippled in 2000 when he announced his engagement to Zeta-Jones, another indication that Douglas wished to look younger due to his relationship.

Douglas isn't alone when it comes to speculations of surgery, however - his wife also came under scrutiny when photographs of her at the beach emerged in 2007, bringing with them rumours that she'd had a breast uplift. Other suggestions of cosmetic surgery appeared when the actress was seen boasting a much larger cleavage than before, indicating breast augmentation, and further photographs of her flawless forehead suggested she had used wrinkle-relaxing injections in order to maintain a youthful appearance.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones remain one of Hollywood's hottest couples and only join the list of celebrity pairings rumoured to have undergone cosmetic procedures together. Other couples include Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who are said to receive wrinkle-relaxing injections amongst other treatments.
