America is experiencing a surge in demand for couples cosmetic surgery, with people choosing to grow young together. Medical director of Reflections Centre in New Jersey, USA, Dr Mitchell Chasin, said: “Years ago, we would see a wife come in and she would say, 'I can't let my husband know what I'm doing’. And then the husband would come in and he would say, 'you know what, this is a secret, please don't tell my wife’.”Ira and Roberta Almeas are one couple that have decided to have treatments together to ensure they both look as good as each other. According to Today, Ira Almeas told his wife: “If you're gonna look good, I want to look good!” The Almeases now regularly attend their cosmetic surgery clinic to have anti-ageing treatments such as Botox and dermal fillers. Dr Nancy Synderman, medical editor for NBC, said the trend is likely to account for the increase in men opting for cosmetic surgery and non-surgical procedures. “I think it's a great experience to grow younger together,” said Ira Almeas. “We feel a little bit more refreshed, a little bit more energetic, and it's just another part of our life together that we're sharing.”
