Dermatologist shares tips for looking ten years younger
When we’re young, we do all we can to try and look older – but as soon as we hit certain milestones, suddenly it’s a race to reverse the clock in a bid to achieve a younger-looking complexion. So what we can do to prevent the signs of Ageing?
Over time, our skin’s needs change – and when we hit our 30s, it’s imperative that we’re well moisturised as the more hydrated the epidermis, the more youthful our skin will appear. Firstly, you need to get a gentle cleanser – specifically without foam. The problem with foam cleansers is that they generally contain sulphates which dry out the skin, giving you a dried out and more wrinkled appearance.
Secondly, discard your toner. These dry out the skin too, resulting in a less supple complexion – you’re better off using a hydrating serum comprising actives such as Hyaluronic Acid or Vitamin C to prevent any oxidative damage. Finally – ALWAYS moisturise! Be sure you use a gentle moisturiser, and that you moisturise your skin at least twice a day.
Additionally, it’s recommended that you protect your skin from the sun and that you take up regular exercise – in fact, it’s been proven to reduce skin Ageing by up to 20 per cent! Fitting in just half an hour a day for six days a week will really reap the benefits and give you a youthful appearance.
