More than 22,000 people were reported to have tuned in live online to watch ex-England footballer Michael Gray undergo a hair transplant. The operation, which took approximately seven hours, was thought to be the first of its kind to be streamed to a live audience, and it attracted significant media attention as a result.Gray, 37, who now commentates on popular sport radio station TalkSport but who once played for Sunderland and other premiership teams, decided to have the operation after his hairline began to recede. The operation involved Dr Farjo taking hairs from the back and side of the head and implanting them into the front to restore his former hairline. Of the operation, Gray said: I'm really happy with the way things have gone today and to have been part of this landmark project. I never expected 22,000 would be watching me have a hair transplant, but hopefully it's given anyone else who is considering the surgery some insight into how it all works, he added.
