For some reason, I tend to think that celebrities will always just automatically choose the best of everything. They'll shop in the best shops, stay in the best hotels, eat the best food - but every now and then I'm reminded that just because someone is famous, it doesn't mean they necessarily make the right choices - even about the important things. So what's got me thinking about all this? Well, I have to admit that it may have something to do with Jordan - or Katie Price as she's maybe better known now. Katie has had some cosmetic surgery that's really been to her advantage in the past - just think of that initial boob job - but these days I can't help worrying she's going a little over the top with the Botox and fillers. You'd think a star who makes money from their looks would be the most sensible when it comes to cosmetic treatments - but sometimes I suspect celebs choose surgeons that won't say no - rather than those who'll advise them on the best possible course of treatment. Heidi Montag and her alleged 10 surgeries in one go is springing to mind. Obviously I'm just speculating about Katie and Heidi - I've never even met them let alone had a chance to look at them up close. But when I hear about stars getting carried away and maybe having a few procedures more than they maybe should, I can't help wondering why no one says anything to them. That's why it was great to see the risks of non-reputable clinics being highlighted on last night's new Channel 4 series The Ugly Face of Beauty, which showed just how important it is to ask the right questions! You should never be afraid to ask about everything from your surgeon's qualifications and training to the costs involved in your treatment, as these will all play a part in helping you choose your cosmetic surgery provider. That's one of the big reasons why I'd encourage anyone thinking about cosmetic treatments to get them done in the UK, where you can make sure you're getting the appropriate after care to help you through all parts of your journey. Always make sure a surgeon is reputable and that any clinic you consider has a good reputation. A good provider knows what's most important, and that's the best and safest result, not being a yes man.
