An expert has offered advice on how people can prevent too many lines and wrinkles from forming on their face. In an article for Edge on the Net, New York/New Jersey-based board-certified dermatologist Dr Rebecca Baxt said the way people sleep can significantly reduce lines and wrinkles.She advised them to avoid sleeping on their front or side with their face scrunched up in the sheets if possible. Instead, it is better for individuals to lie on their backs. Alternatively, if people know they are genetically prone to wrinkles in certain areas because of the way their parents aged, they can use Botox injections as a preventative measure. Botox treatments can be used to prevent wrinkles for people in their 20s and 30s. It is a great time to start preventing wrinkles on the upper area of the face, the expert said. Dr Baxt noted smoking is a no-no if people want to ensure they do not develop fine lines around their lips. They should also apply sunscreen regularly when they are outside, as this is an effective anti-ageing solution. Finally, individuals were advised to take care when removing their makeup at night especially around the eye area as scrubbing or wiping too vigorously can damage the skin.
