Experts say microdermabrasion can reduce brown spots
13 October 2011American dermatologists have given their backing to the use of microdermabrasion to help reduce the appearance of brown spots on the skin. Board certified dermatologists at the Dermatology Centre of Atlanta, Georgia, have said specialised treatments such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion can help to lessen the appearance of brown spots by gently lightening the pigment during a course of treatment. Along with Intense Light Pulse therapy, microdermabrasion is often popular as not only is it effective, but there is little downtime involved. In a statement, the centre said anyone considering undergoing a treatment should first seek out a qualified professional who will be able to provide specialist advice. It read: "If you need help deciding which treatment option is right for your skin, follow up with your dermatologist to customise a plan best suited for your skin."
