Facelifts are a balancing act, says surgeon

A surgeon has described facelifts as a ‘balancing act’ that require a great deal of skill to achieve the desired effects. Dr Jason Diamond, who works in Beverly Hills, spoke to US celebrity gossip show Extra about how to achieve natural-looking facial surgery. He explained it is important that patients do not look as though they have been surgically enhanced, but the changes must be significant enough for the procedure to make an improvement to their looks. Dr Diamond stated that the effects people are looking for can often be achieved by using several non-invasive treatments, instead of a full surgical facelift. "My patients don’t look done," he said. "They just look great." Non-invasive procedures are considerably cheaper than surgery, while the recovery time is much quicker, which could be part of the reason why so many people are turning to treatments such as Botox and lip fillers.
