Female plastic surgeon sees rise in pre-wedding cosmetic surgery
19 August 2011A female plastic surgeon in California, America has noticed a surge in the number of women opting for plastic surgery in the run-up to their wedding day. Dr Tenley Lawton, based in Newport Beach, said: “Brides are spending anywhere between $200-$12,000 [£120 - £7,265] on procedures to help them feel and look their best on their wedding day.”Pre-wedding patients are often looking to create their “perfect” look for the “perfect day” according to Dr Lawton, and she advises those considering it to plan ahead. “Typically, for most cosmetic procedures, it takes about six months before final results are seen," she says. “What is most important is a woman has a realistic outlook on cosmetic surgery. They need to remember their future husband loves them the way they are. A little enhancement is one thing, but be cautious not to over-do it,” she added. The most popular procedures for brides-to-be are Botox, breast implants, liposuction and nose reshaping, and many patients are opting for a combination of procedures to reduce recovery time. Dr Lawton is offering a specific bridal consulting programme to ensure patients know what is on offer and what is realistic in the timescales they are working to.
