Footballers who have had cosmetic surgery

Famous footballers are not immune to the draw of cosmetic surgery, and many have had procedures to alter their image. Sasa Curcic, former Crystal Palace, Bolton and Aston Villa player, had a nose job – as confirmed in a statement made by his wife in 1998. “I think it was more to do with vanity because he was always telling me he’d like to have a nose like mine,” she said.“He got into trouble with Villa because he didn’t tell them he was having the surgery and it meant he couldn’t play until it had healed, she added. Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita also had nose reshaping surgery, as well as a chin implant, eye bag surgery, liposuction and skin peels. These plastic surgery procedures were performed after Higuita was voted Colombia’s ugliest icon. And of course Wayne Rooney, who made no secret of his hair transplant, which he had in the summer of last year. On Twitter, Rooney wrote that he was ‘delighted with the result’. While all of the above were very open about their cosmetic surgery procedures, Jermain Pennant denies having any surgery despite being photographed leaving a Harley Street clinic. The 21-year-old claimed to have ‘hit his head’ but rumour had it that he had undergone ear reshaping surgery. See original story here: http://soccerlens.com/footballers-and-cosmetic-surgery/86853/
