French first lady rumoured to be Botox fan

Carla Bruni leads a high-profile public life as the wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and her new smooth appearance is causing rumours that the first lady may have undergone cosmetic surgery procedures. The 41-year-old former model married the French President last year, and according to Momento 24, her recent appearances have revealed a more rounded face with less prominent wrinkles and smaller eyes, indicating that Carla may have had wrinkle-relaxing Botox treatment to retain her youthful appearance. Last year, it was suggested that the French President's marriage to the glamorous younger woman was representative of a growing trend among older men to appeal to younger women. Dubbed 'Sarkozy Syndrome' by the media, a survey revealed a boom in Botox and face lift procedures being undertaken by men aged 35-55 in order to attract women one to two decades younger than themselves. Carla is reportedly being considered for a role in an upcoming Woody Allen film. The 73-year-old director has previously confirmed that he would "like to work with Carla Bruni," stating: "She is an accomplished artist, she is very beautiful and I am sure she would have a gift for comedy. "I am sure she would be marvellous. She has charisma and is used to appearing in public." Carla's previous film roles in Robert Allman's 1994 fashion-themed film Prêt-à-Porter and the 1998 French film Paparazzi have both seen her playing herself, so it remains to be seen how she will fare in a more demanding fictional role.
