Gainsbourg contemplates Cosmetic Surgery as career crossroads approaches
12 March 2014Actress Charlotte Gainsbourg has admitted to not liking ageing, and conceded that her opinion on undergoing Cosmetic Surgery has changed as she has got older. Now 42, London-born Gainsbourg, star of Jane Eyre, Antichrist and Nymphomaniac, had previously vowed to "stay natural" but has now admitted to Marie Claire magazine: "I find [ageing] very distressing. "Movies are getting hard for me. I don't want to be embarrassed by my appearance when I see myself on film. So either I make peace with the fact that I am ageing, or I don't and I quit acting." The fact that her film career seems busier than ever she currently has no fewer than four projects in post-production may be a big factor, but Gainsbourg admitted: "For the longest time I was one of those people who thought it was important to 'stay natural', but now I'm faced with the reality of it, I'm changing my mind a bit." She added that she would insist on the effects of any procedure being "minimal, so that nobody notices", but by the same token said: "I've heard that you have to do it early on. So I don't know when, but maybe sometime soon". -How do you plan to reverse the signs of ageing? Let us know on Twitter.
