75627514A growing number of divorcees are going under the knife as the trend of revenge surgery sweeps Britain. According to a report, more than a quarter of women opting for plastic surgery are recently divorced. Similarly, 11 per cent of male patients are divorcees. It is a trend that has been experienced in the US for a number of years but is now rearing its head on this side of the pond.Plastic surgeon Dr Brent Moelleken said: I personally believe this is part of the grieving process when a relationship ends. It's never a good idea to have plastic surgery for somebody else, only for yourself. Some people are unhappy with their surgery because they did it for their ex. When things don't work out, they blame their surgery for not fixing the problem. So experienced plastic surgeons are watchful for patients who are doing surgery for the wrong reason. The rise has also been attributed to many people letting themselves go during a marriage and procedures range from breast augmentation to Botox and fillers. The report by Transform Plastic Surgery Group showed a rise on figures from 2012.
