How to tackle early signs of Ageing, according to the experts
Yesterday we wrote about the lack of thirty year olds who follow a proper Skin Care regime. So today we’re going to show you how to turn back the clock and tackle those early signs of Ageing, with the help of an established Skin Care regime. According to one expert, the majority of women start to age from 25 due to both environmental factors and the natural Ageing process. So if you’re not yet 25 and you haven’t got your Skin Care regime sorted, now is the time to pay attention. The Senior Skincare Scientist says: “At 25 your natural regenerative processes begin to slow; your skin replaces old cells more slowly and there is also a slower turnover of the surface skin. “The good news for your skin is that chronological ageing counts for approximately 20 per cent of skin ageing whilst 80 per cent of skin ageing is due to the environment”. So what can you do to ensure that the 80 per cent you are responsible for runs smoothly? Experts recommend getting into good habits early. For example, undertake regular exercise, eat plenty of superfoods (see our recent blog post for some ideas) and establish a proper cleansing, toning and moisturising routine that you can follow on a daily basis. The Skin Care expert adds that it is important to incorporate SPF protection into your Skin Care routine: “Whilst sunscreens are really important to counteract the harmful effect of the sun it is not enough alone to protect against environmental assaults – this is where antioxidants come in. Antioxidants protect the cells in our body and work by scavenging free radicals and binding to them before they can cause damage”. Finally, using a moisturiser which contains vitamin A will help to encourage cell renewal, minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and leaving your skin looking smooth and refreshed.
