Investment banker tells Oprah Winfrey cosmetic surgery boosted her career
14 December 2011A 55-year-old investment banker has told US TV chat show host Oprah Winfrey how numerous cosmetic surgery procedures helped to further her career. The woman, who works on Wall Street and has decided to remain anonymous, believes her looks and the confidence she gained from improving her appearance have been the making of her career. According to a report by the Daily Mail, the businesswoman had her first taste of cosmetic surgery at the age of 24 when she underwent liposuction on her thighs. A further nine operations followed including two nose jobs, a tummy tuck, breast enhancement and work to her forehead, eyes and ears. She said: "Having a killer body gave me a kind of confidence I'd never had. But the way men reacted to me after my first surgery was the way I thought people would treat me if I had suddenly become famous." The high-flier said her career was already beginning to bloom before she turned to cosmetic surgery, but believes the work has certainly played a significant part in her success. She said: "'I thought, wait a minute - I'm the same person I was before the surgeries, but now I looked like a bombshell in addition to being really good at my work, and it definitely opened up more opportunities. "That's when I began to think of the surgeries as an asset and an investment."
