It happens to the best of us! Celebrities who suffer from sensitive skin

8 October 2015

Angry spots and red, itchy skin are enough to knock anybody’s confidence – and is it just us, or do flare-ups always seem to happen at the least convenient moments?! But if you are suffering from a sensitive skin condition it may help to know, so are some of the most glamorous women on the planet. From acne to eczema, even celebs battle with delicate skin.

  • Kate Middleton

She’s recognised internationally for her flawless style and gorgeous looks, but the Duchess of Cambridge also suffers from eczema. A school friend told the press Kate was, “self-conscious about her eczema” and that she was teased at school about her skin.

Eczema causes the skin to become itchy, dry and red. Children often grow out of the condition, though some adults suffer from eczema long term. Triggers for eczema flare-ups include stress, the weather and in some instances certain foods, doctors recommend fragrance-free moisturisers to treat the condition.

  • Renee Zellweger

Renee is a huge Hollywood star, but what is less well known about the actress is that she suffers from Rosacea.  The condition causes red, rash-like patches of skin and most commonly affects the face. The fair-skinned actress is often been seen with rosy looking cheeks, though she is rumoured to manage her Rosacea with a rigorous skin care regime.

Rosacea can be treated with the PPx Laser. This light therapy effectively reduces red colouring to the skin and soothes Acne Rosacea, for a clearer complexion.

  • Lorde

The New Zealand born singer is a fantastic role model when it comes to dealing with physical imperfections. The teenager has spoken openly about her acne on social media and encourages her fans to embrace their flaws.

After seeing a photoshopped image of herself in which her pimples had been removed Lorde tweeted about the unrealistic standards it set.

Acne is a common skin condition affecting a lot of teenagers; it’s often related to hormones though it can be improved with treatments like PPx lasers, the Dermal Roller and Skin Peels.

  • Kim Kardashian

The reality TV star made her name by exposing her entire life to the media, though she admits she finds her Psoriasis embarrassing. The condition causes red, flaky patches on skin which Kim was worried would affect her modelling career. “People don’t understand the pressure on me to look perfect… I had a lingerie photo shoot once and it was just covering my legs…I have this LED light therapy for my psoriasis because I’ll try anything.”
