Itâs not just Mummy getting a make-over: introducing the Dad Lift
19 August 2015
While we know pregnancy, child-birth and breast feeding can transform a woman’s body, it seems parenthood can also take its toll on Dad’s looks. First there was ‘The Mummy Make-Over’, a combination Tummy Tuck and Breast Augmentation to help women reclaim their pre-baby bodies, and now the ‘Dad Lift’ offers several Cosmetic Treatments for tired fathers to rejuvenate their appearance.
One California based Cosmetic Surgeon explains, “The procedure is non surgical, virtually painless and takes about one hour from start to finish… I use fillers to restore volume in the deep lines around the nose and mouth, smile lines and in the sunken cheeks of busy dads. Botox is used to get rid of wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet. Finally a laser treatment reduces age spots, blemishes and improves the quality of skin.”
The treatment targets the areas men first show signs of ageing - frown lines on the forehead and wrinkles around the eyes. As well as correcting the loss of elasticity in the skin we all suffer as we get older.
The surgeon continues, “We start to lose the elasticity of our skin as well as the natural fullness of the face… cheeks become deflated and droopy. For men in particular, they tend to develop jowls and excess skin the face later in life.”
But it’s not all bad news for men when it comes to ageing – just look at the popularity of the ‘dad bod’! Celebrities like Jon Hamm, Simon Cowell and Leonardo Dicaprio have been hailed for their ‘slightly rounded’ physiques that strike an attractive balance between working out and beer belly.
