Veteran actress Jane Fonda is sporting a fresher and more youthful look, after revitalising her face with cosmetic surgery.The 72-year-old star rose to fame in the 1960s with leading roles in films like Barbarella and Cat Ballou, and is still going strong in both Hollywood and Broadway. Having previously undergone plastic surgery treatments to reduce the lines around her eyes as well as breast augmentation, reports that Jane has had another beauty boost. The star revealed that she had surgery two weeks ago to freshen up her face for the new year, including eye bag removal and treatments to reduce the appearance of wrinkles on her face and neck. The star also confessed that she her new haircut was intended to distract people's attention from her surgery. Jane told the Daily Express: "I just had some work done on my chin and neck and had the bags taken away from under my eyes so I decided it would be a good idea to get a new haircut so people will think it's my new hair." As well as enjoying a successful career in Hollywood, Jane is well-known for her political activism, famously supporting the civil rights movement in the 1960s as well as opposing the Vietnam War. In more recent years, the outspoken liberal has turned her attention to the Israel-Palestine conflict and the War in Iraq, and continues to be a strong voice for feminist issues everywhere.
